What to Expect at SJS
At SJS Faith is the cornerstone of our school. All of our action and interactions are guided by our faith. When you walk down the halls you will see and feel the SJS difference. Students are the liturgy leaders at the school liturgies. There are weekly visits by the parish priests. And our thorough religion curriculum ensures a solid foundation built on Catholic values.
"I love teaching in a Catholic school because our priority is the education of the whole child, not just academically but spiritually also. When the focus is on following Christ, we have the opportunity to have a hand in creating the future leaders of our World and our Church."
— Ms. Shelley Brown, Grades 5/6 Science
"It is important that our education has its foundation in faith. Because we as a community start from a foundation of faith, we can truly help our students search for, discover, and understand the truth and beauty in all the subjects taught at SJS. Building upon our common foundation, we prepare our students for the challenges of high school and beyond."
— Mr. Bob Myer, Junior High Language Arts
"As a product of Catholic schools, I have experienced first hand the effects of great Catholic education. I know that my life would not have been the same without the amazing teachers I've had at Catholic schools in Omaha. These teachers have not only taught, but also modeled the joy that is found in living the Faith. As an educator, I want to be that person for my students, so Catholic education was the only choice for me. I love bringing conversations about our faith and traditions into the classroom."
— Mrs. Becky Walters, Junior High Religion
