April 2 Email from Mr. Kelly
Dear SJS Catholic School Community,
You will see in the attached letter that the Catholic Schools Office has made the decision for schools to remain in distance-learning mode for the remainder of the semester. This decision was made in consultation with state and local health officials. While disappointing, nothing is more important than the health and well-being of our students and community. I am sorry for any challenges this creates.
We at SJS will continue in the learning model we have been working with over the past three weeks. We appreciate all you have done to help the learning to continue. While not ideal, by working together home and school can still help the students to progress in skills and their faith. We will continue to grade as we have in the past, but will be flexible and understanding as we know this is a challenging situation. If you have any questions or concerns about the learning or process feel free to contact me or the classroom teachers.
We will be working on a plan for the special events that we normally would have at the end of the school year, and will be in communication with you once the details are known. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please continue to monitor your emails for further information about the school and your individual student.
We will work to make the best of this situation, and like all things at SJS we will approach it with faith and a knowledge that God is with us. Take care, stay safe, and God Bless.
Peace,
William Kelly
Principal
