9 December Virtual Backpack

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped to make our SOAR Development Dinner a success. We have been overwhelmed by the response from the community and by the obvious love for our school. Together, our school community raised a record amount of funds that will have a direct impact on SJS. A net profit of $118,103! Thank you for being faithful and supportive members of the SJS family.
Free Will out of uniform day on Friday the 16th.  The “ticket” for this day will be a donation of a canned good(s) for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry.  This also gives us an Advent opportunity for giving.  We are trying to reinforce the idea that we should be Jesus for others at school and our actions can show what we believe.
SJS Spirit Store Update All orders from the SJS Spirit Store should be delivered to school by December 16th. The vendor, Digiorgio’s, has had difficulty fulfilling orders regularly due to staffing and manufacturer inventory. To avoid future issues with orders being fulfilled on time, the store will no longer be open all year. Instead, you will be able to make a purchase within a short window, with delivery in the weeks following. More details to come on those order dates. Digiorgio’s apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused.

Christmas Cookies for the Community needs your help will be Thursday, December 15th!  We bake, assemble, and deliver cookies to all of our neighbors surrounding SJS (this is fun to do with kids right after school).  We also deliver cookies to businesses, including places like KVSS, the police station, and the fire station.  We spread lots of Christmas joy all over Omaha!  Will you please be a part of this tradition with us?  You can bake 2 dozen treats.  You can assemble treats (if you are a stay-at-home parent, you can do this with us…we accommodate little ones). You can deliver treats to some of the SJS neighbors.  You can drive to deliver treats to various businesses.  (If you sign up to deliver, you will get a link to a sign-up genius and get to choose the places you deliver to).

Please help SJS spread Christmas cheer by signing up to help on iVolunteer https://stjamesseton.ivolunteer.com/event_276 today!  If you have any questions, please email Katie Kaldenberg at katieschweer@hotmail.com.
