A Heartfelt Thank You to Our SOAR Development Dinner Sponsors!

We are grateful to the many businesses that are a big part of our community.  They partner with St. James/Seton School because they believe in Catholic education.  They believe the work we are doing is important and know that our students will one day be active members of the community. Although Thank You seems like it is not enough, please know how blessed we feel by the role you play in our great school. Your support ensures the success of this event. Thank you for your belief in our students, our staff, and in Catholic education. SJS continues to thrive because of your generosity!

Our silent auction items will be open for bidding starting tomorrow: bidpal.net/sjssoar2020. The auction will close on November 21st at 8:30 PM. The raffle drawings will be live streamed via Facebook Live shortly after the silent auction closes. Any winners will be contacted. Silent Auction winnings can be picked up on Sunday, November 22nd in the school gym from 10 AM-3 PM. If you are unable to pick up your items that day, you will need to contact thoward@sjsomaha.org to make other arrangements.

Some SOAR Highlights:

  • The auction is broken into categories to make searching easier!  Please note in the school section you will also find fun offerings from our teachers and staff!
  • Live auction items will be available for bidding on the website as well this year, this will not be a live streamed event.
  • A classic favorite at SOAR is the Eagles Nest. The Eagles Nest is the surest bet you can make at SOAR! How it works: You make a donation of at least $20 to St. James/Seton Catholic School. Then, you get to pick from the envelopes on the Eagle’s Nest Board. Inside each envelope is a gift card(s), the value of which is at least $20 or more. No matter what you pick, you will get your donation back in the form of a gift card! You will be able to purchase these on the auction site, but there is only a limited amount available, you will then be able to pick out your head on Saturday the 21st at the takeout event, Sunday the 22nd, or stop by the school office the following week!

SJS students will be honoring our veterans next week for Veterans’ Day by adding stars with names of their special veterans shown around a flag, displayed in our hallway. We will not be requesting photos brought from home this year because of Covid precautions.
God bless all our veterans, both those who have served and those currently serving our country.
Tuesday, November 10th is a out of uniform day.  If a student brings in a monetary donation they are able to dress down, following all normal out of uniform rules. Funds raised will support our SOAR fundraiser. Participation is optional. Thanks for all you do!

Girl Scout Troop 48691 invites all 1st grade girls to attend a meeting.  As a Girl Scout, your girl will practice leadership like a go-getter, problem solve like an innovator, embrace challenges like a risk taker, and show empathy like a leader in a girl-led and girl-friendly environment.  We earn badges while trying new things, make new friends as part of the troop, make a difference in the community, sell cookies while learning to plan and meet goals, explore and care for nature while trying to live by the Girl Scout promise, and so much more!   We meet once a month (on the third Sunday) for an hour and try to incorporate fun monthly outings, all while learning what it means to be a Girl Scout.  Please have your daughter join us for a meeting on Sunday, November 22nd from 1:30-2:30.  Please contact Missy McGowan at 308-440-3447 or misaleena@yahoo.com or Cindy Guenzel at 402-779-9821 or ckguenzel@gmail.com for more information.
