We are still finalizing details for SOAR which is scheduled for November 21st. This event is our largest development fundraiser, and its proceeds have a major impact on tuition costs and operational expenses. At last year’s SOAR, we were able to raise $77,000 because of our generous families, parishioners, and community. Our school relies heavily on fundraising, our parishioners, and the contributions of local businesses to help forward our mission. In addition, this event is a tremendous community builder for our school and parishes. Thus, your involvement and contributions to SOAR 2020 are vital to the students and staff of SJS.Though SOAR will look very different this year, we need your help now more than ever! There are many ways that you can still help SOAR be a success. For the online auction, we are in need of gift cards of any amount, in-kind donations (silent/live auction items), and monetary donations. Sponsorships are also a great need at this time. We will promote sponsors through social media, email, on our event website, and in our virtual event catalog. If you know of a business that may be interested, please let us know. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
If you would like to contribute to SOAR please contact the school office or e-mail thoward@sjsomaha.org. You can also forward any donations to the school office marked “SOAR.” Thanks for your prayers and your support as we plan this event during a very unusual time. |

THE SHOW MUST GO ON….
At Skutt Catholic, our spring musical cast has persevered through weeks of Zoom rehearsals and the moving of the spring musical to the fall. With live indoor music and theatre performances deemed unsafe we have moved our production outdoors. Our theatre director, Mrs. Lara Marsh, is also the Director for Nebraska Shakespeare, so we are leaning on her years of experience with Shakespeare on the Green. We are excited to be bringing live theatre back to the area. On October 1 (7:30 p.m.), October 3 (7:30 p.m.), and October 4 (2 p.m.), we will be presenting Big, the Musical outside on the Skutt Catholic Music Green. Make your reservation through the form on skuttcatholic.com. Due to social distancing, ALL tickets are reserved. Cost is $8 for adults; $6 for students. Payments can be dropped off at Skutt Catholic, attn: Musical Tickets or mailed to Skutt Catholic High School, attn: Musical Tickets, 3131 S. 156th Street, Omaha, NE 68130. Contact Chris Storm at chrisstorm@skuttcatholic.com with any questions.
