27 October Letter from Mr. Kelly
Dear SJS Catholic School Community,
One of the trends that we have seen this year is that Mondays and Tuesdays are generally the worst days for COVID reporting at SJS. So, it seems students are exposed or attend events Friday night or over the weekend, and symptoms then start to appear. So, that makes this longer weekend (with Halloween) a little bit of a concern for us at the school. We strongly encourage a cautious approach with your student, keeping in mind vaccination status and masking with those you are spending time with, even on Halloween. We know that a cautious approach, and parents being vigilant about symptoms, will help us navigate these COVID times.
We also look forward to seeing you all at Parent/Teacher Conferences tomorrow. We typically have near 100% participation with our parents. When home and school work together great progress can be made. Thanks for your continued support.
An Irish basket, a man basket, holiday decorations, home goods, and pet items are all recent additions to our SOAR silent auction. Wow! It’s sure to be a fun event. We look forward to celebrating with you on November 20th at Creighton Prep High School! Please purchase your dinner ticket soon. If you are still considering pitching in, there is still time to order off the Amazon wish list, to donate another item of your choosing, or to contribute a gift card of any amount. We hope to have all donations in by the first week of November. Online bidding for the silent auction will begin on November 12th at bidpal.net/soar2021 and you can bid online whether or not you can attend.
Thanks for all you do.
Peace,
William Kelly
