24 March Letter from Mr. Kelly

Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Dear SJS Catholic School Community,

I have been able to give several school tours recently. And I am reminded during these tours that not all schools are like SJS. What we are doing here is unique and special. Our students are respectful and want to learn, our teachers are committed to making each one a success, our parents are supportive of our school mission, and our culture is one of high expectations. Thank you for supporting our SJS staff, it makes a huge difference.  And we couldn’t do all this without the support of our parents, so thank you for all that you do. And we couldn’t do this without the hard work of our dedicated teachers. Thank you to our teachers and staff for all their hard work and efforts. The future is bright indeed at SJS. If you know of a family that would be a good fit, we are always looking to create more disciples, send them our way please.

The Lenten season is quite helpful for us in school. It provides us with opportunities to discuss our faith more deeply and how we can put our faith into action. We have been discussing the three disciplines of Lent, prayer, fasting, and giving alms. We have another almsgiving opportunity with a free-will out of uniform day on April 4th for Essential Pregnancy Services.  Church attendance on the weekend has also been a focus for our staff.  We strongly encourage you to reinforce that idea and make liturgy an important part of your weekend.

Be on the lookout for Nest Fest information coming your way regarding our upcoming Home and School fundraiser.  Thanks to Raye Nord and the Nest Fest Committee for all their hard work in preparation.  The Home and School does much to support our school and students and this event is a fun way to lend your support.
Easter break begins on April 6th.  Thanks for all you do.

Peace,
William Kelly
