It’s official… SJS is a Superstar Catholic School! A big thanks to everyone who participated in the contest. We are looking forward to fun prizes and Spirit Catholic Radio visiting our school this semester!
Spring Scholastic Book Fair is coming up soon. It will run from Thursday, March 9th through Wednesday, March 15th. We’ll be open before and after school (7:40 – 8:00 & 3:15 – 4:00) and during the Story Time event on Tuesday, March 14th (6:30-7:30). I will close briefly at 4:00 on Tuesday, March 14th, but will open back up about 4:30 or so. You will be able to shop when you pick up your child from Kids Care or anytime until 7:30 that evening.
I am once again in need of volunteers to make this Book Fair as successful as those in years past. I can’t do it without your help. Last spring’s fair was the best ever! I’m hoping for a repeat. Thank you in advance for whatever support you can give.
Please go to iVolunteer to sign up for a time that is convenient for you. All hours count toward required parent participation. I am in need of both adult and student volunteers (7th & 8th graders only, please!).
A few things to note:
Sales Tax will be charged on all sales. Please remember to add 7% for tax when sending money with your child to purchase books, posters, or novelties, or better yet, sign up for eWallet. It’s simple to set up and easy for your child to use. I encourage all families to use this.
Any unused funds from eWallet go into a gift card you may use at scholastic.com or save for the next book fair. If you had a balance from last fall, you should have been receiving monthly emails reminding you of that balance (no matter how small). You will also get an email about a week before the upcoming fair with information about converting your balance to a new eWallet for this fair.
Keep in mind that you can shop the fair online if you are unable to make it in-person. The online fair will run until March 22nd. We receive credit for all online purchases. Follow the web address above to shop online.
Once again, thank you for your help and support. If you have any questions, please email me at dvamosi@sjsomaha.org.
