13 October Virtual Backpack

Hear ye!  Hear ye!  The remainder of the month shall now be referred to as GIVETOBER!

We have a very generous donor that will match any donation given to our SOAR Dinner in the next two weeks, up to $2000! Any auction item, gift card, liquor/wine, or monetary donation made by October 31st will help us to attain this matching gift. So essentially your gift is doubled! Raffle ticket sales do not count toward the matching gift. Your gift contributes to a successful SOAR which ultimately impacts our students. As an extra perk, if we acquire $2,000 worth of donations by the end of the month, Home & School is going to provide a special treat to the kiddos the week before we break for Thanksgiving.

Everyone can participate in Givetober! Parents, alumni, parishioners, aunts, uncles, grandparents, staff, complete strangers, and friends are all invited to come together in support of our students. For more information about our event, or to make a monetary donation to the Giving Meter, please visit https://one.bidpal.net/soar2022/browse/donation. This is a win/win situation for SJS. You feel good about donating and the school can receive an additional $2000. Thanks for your continued support!

Additional ways to support the event:

  • Purchase tickets to attend the event.
  • Sponsor or purchase advertising options to promote your business.
  • Donate gift cards of any amount and forward to the school office.
  • Contribute a silent or live auction item. See Amazon Wishlist ideas!
  • Make a donation of any amount to the Giving Meter.
  • Check out Chance Raffle opportunities… Win a Traeger or iRobot!
  • Considering volunteering to help the event!
We have had many great auction item donations coming in and we are very grateful! If you purchased from the Amazon wishlist and you want to be acknowledged for your contribution, please send Mrs. Howard a quick message. Many of the donations from Amazon have been delivered without a donor name attached. We don’t want to miss anyone, so please let us know! Please know we are thankful for your generosity.

If you would like to contribute to SOAR in some way or have questions, please contact the school office or e-mail thoward@sjsomaha.org. You can also forward any donations to the office marked “SOAR.” The deadline for auction items is November 1st. For more details about the event, please check out: bidpal.net/soar2022.
