NESTFEST REWARD DAY EARNED: Thank you for your support of NEST FEST!  We are off to a great start.  In less than 48 hours we have already raised over $4000 and are well on our way to meeting (or exceeding) our goal.  Above is a calendar view of the Reward Days our students have already won.
A few reminders:

  • Top Grade Level Earners were announced today and received some NEST FEST swag (and candy)!
  • Next Week’s Top Grade Level earners (based on pledges received from today (4/13) thru next Thursday (4/21) will be announced on Friday, April 22

JOB OPPORTUNITY!!!  Do you remember your elementary school lunch lady?  Do you like children?  Do you like food?  If you answered yes to these questions do we have a job for you!  SJS Catholic School is currently hiring a Cafeteria Specialist for the 2022/2023 school year.  This position has a variety of days available from 9:30-1:30.  Duties include minimal food prep, serving lunches, and cleanup.  Positive and flexible attitude is a must.  For information on this paid position contact Karen Wilmes @ 402-572-0339 or kwilmes@sjsomaha.org.

COVID Test Kits are available in the school office.  Simply contact the office if one will be helpful.

Technology Supervision It is vital to make sure student activity is supervised online and on the cell phone, even over break.  At SJS we use Go Guardian, and there are many similar programs available for parents.

Dismissal Your student should go immediately to their ride after school.  We provide no supervision, and teachers have a variety of after school responsibilities to attend to, so students should go immediately to their vehicle after school.

Confirmation Receptions    April 22nd SJ – April 29th SEA – Receptions are being planned immediately following Confirmation Masses at both St. James and St. Elizabeth Ann. It is our hope that this tradition will continue, with the 6th and 7th grade families planning for the event and then being able to relax and enjoy the evening when their son or daughter is confirmed in 8th grade. 6th and 7th grade families – please sign up to either help serve/set up or for a monetary donation. Children’s Scholarship of Omaha is a nonprofit organization that funds scholarships to private schools.  There are requirements to apply and an application process.  We encourage you to pursue this opportunity as the finances would help the school.  We are asking all families that request financial assistance from SJS to start with the CSF process.  Continued support from SJS funds is contingent upon applying to CSF.  You can apply now, and the deadline is May 6th.

Athletic Scholarship  Now accepting applications for the 2022 Rick Gilbride Memorial High School Scholarship.  Eighth graders who will be going to an Omaha-area Catholic high school in the fall can apply for the 2022 Rick Gilbride Memorial High School Scholarship.  We will present a one-time $500 scholarship to one boy and one girl in this year’s 8th grade class.  To apply, go to https://www.sjsahtletics.com/
