10 September Virtual Backpack

Spirit Dress Down Day  Monday, September 13th.
SPIRIT DAYS On Spirit Days students may wear jeans, sweatpants, or wind pants with a uniform shirt, uniform sweatshirt, or with a SJS spirit shirt or sweatshirt. Jeans may not be torn or have holes in them. Tight pants are not allowed (for example: yoga pants and leggings). Pajama shirts or pants are not allowed. Uniform shorts will be the only shorts allowed on spirit days when shorts are part of the dress code (August-October and April-May).

Students that do not meet proper attire for spirit or dress down days will contact home or be given a school uniform to wear for the day. Please note the distinction between “spirit days” and “dress down days.” Spirit days are more frequent and require the student to wear a uniform shirt, uniform sweatshirt, or a SJS spirit shirt. A spirit shirt does not include wearing a school color. Spirit day attire does not include high school shirts of any type. The key feature of the shirt is to demonstrate school and/or parish spirit. Shirts that demonstrate approved programs of either the parish or the school will be allowed. (i.e. SJS athletic programs, SJS Clubs, Kids for Jesus, Scouts, etc.)

SOAR Do you have baskets or tubs your looking to get rid of?  We would love to take them off your hands.  Send to school office to be used for SOAR.

There are many ways that you can help our SOAR development fundraiser. For the online auction, we are in need of donations of gift cards, silent/live auction items, and monetary donations. Donations of all sizes are welcome and appreciated! Sponsorships are also a great need at this time. We will promote sponsors through social media, email, on our event website, and virtual event catalog. There are also affordable advertising options available that will help SJS and promote business. If you know of a business that may be interested please let us know. All donations are 100% tax deductible. Often, people want to help but are unsure of what to donate. This year, we have included a variety of ideas below as well as a link to our NEW Amazon Wish List. The Wish List provides you with exact standalone silent or live auction items you can purchase, and Amazon will send the donation directly to the school! Click the link to view the Auction Wish List.

If you would like to contribute to SOAR in some way or have any questions, please contact the school office or e-mail thoward@sjsomaha.org. You can also forward any donations to the office marked “SOAR.” The deadline for donations is November 1st.
