Monday, October 9th.

Students may wear jeans, sweatpants or appropriate length shorts

and a spirit shirt.  Students that did not purchase a spirit shirt but would like to participate in the dress down day may wear a uniform shirt/sweatshirt.

Reminder ~ Product Partner Bags collection is Friday, October 6!

Reminder – If you have not turned in your product partner bags please put them in the collection bins at either parish, or bring to school on Monday.





We are collecting HyVee’s Cash receipts dated September 1, thru December 31, 2017.  HyVee pays $1.00 for every $200.00 spent.  

Our current balance is $ 6,306.24




The SOAR Committee is seeking gift cards for the Eagle's Nest at SOAR. The Eagle's Nest includes gift cards to a variety of popular places around Omaha. This portion of the event has a major impact on our success. We are hoping that the next time you are out to eat or shopping, you consider purchasing a gift card for any denomination and then donate it to the SOAR Dinner. Your generosity is appreciated!

~Annual Coat Drive is October 16th-23rd

*Sponsored by the SJS Fourth Grade Class*


Clean out your closets and donate your clean and gently used coats and winter gear!  They will be sent to the St. Vincent De Paul Society for their coat give away in November.  Donations can be dropped in the collection boxes at SJS during school hours.  Thank You!!

~ SJ/S Book Fair is coming up soon! This is one of two book fairs to be held this year and a great fundraiser for the library. We can’t be successful without your help.

We are looking for volunteers to work during the book fair. Please see iVolunteer @ for details and time. We are hoping to have at least two adults at all times during conferences on Thursday, October 26th.

We are also in need of 7th and 8th grade students for the mascot before and after school from October 20 through October 25.  We also would like 7th and 8th grade volunteers to work shifts during the book fair on October 26 to act as greeters and runners/general help.

~Daisy Do you or anyone you know have a girl in kindergarten or first grade thinking about becoming a Girl Scout? If so, this is THE event for her! Girl Scouts is hosting a Daisy Dollars & Sense program for any girl considering membership in Girl Scouts. At this event on Thursday, 12th from 5:3-6:30, any girl in attendance will receive a lot of FREE stuff, including a FREE Girl Scout membership!  See flyer for details.

Please bring your Box Tops, Campbell Soup labels, Godfather Fedoras, HyVee receipts, and Tyson A+ to school.

Additional collection baggies can be picked up at the school office.

Whatever craft you have, come and join us at the SEA parish center 9am-10pm.  Or there are half day options to accommodate your busy schedule.  Email Jen at for more information or a registration form. There are a few spots open for both students and adults to assist with this.

A percentage of the sales from the evening are donated back to St. James/Seton School

Fundraiser Pick-up - October 19th

There are a few spots open for both students and adults

Trunk or Treat - October 25th

Get ready to Trunk or Treat! Wednesday, October 25th at 7pm in the St. Elizabeth Ann Parking lot the fun will start. Please have your trunks ready by 6:45pm - new this year the best trunk will get a $50 Marcus Theatre Gift Card . Please RSVP by October 18th to See the fliers for more details

~SJS Crafting Day It’s almost time for our Fall Crafting day sponsored by SJS home and school!!!  Whatever craft you have, come and join us Saturday, October 7 from 9am to 10pm at the SEA parish center.  Or there are half day options to accommodate your busy schedule.  You get your own 5’ round table, lunch and/or dinner, snacks and refreshments throughout the day.  Even if you have to leave for a while for another commitment, your things will be safe at your table while you’re gone.  Registration forms are available @, or email Jen at for more information or a registration form. 

~SJS Trunk or Treat for students in grades Preschool thru 6th will take place on Wednesday, October 25th.  For more details about the event and how to get registered check out the flyer @  New this year there is competition!  New this year the best trunk will get a $50 Marcus Theatre Gift Card. ~Marian Wants to Meet You!

Parent Coffee - Oct. 10, 8:15 - 9:00 a.m. at Scooter's Coffee - 102 & Maple

Marian President Mary Higgins invites St. James/Seton parents to join her for coffee. Learn more about Marian: academics, clubs, activities, athletics, fine arts, service and more. Come enjoy a free cup of coffee and good conversation!

Catholic School Info Night - Oct. 19, 7-8 p.m., Marian’s Student Services Center All 7th & 8th-grade girls attending Catholic schools and their parents are invited to learn more about Marian during an informal and fun meeting with President Mary Higgins and Principal Susie Sullivan.


~The St. James Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a trip to Scatter Joy Acres.  The gathering will be October 22nd from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a rain out date (if needed) of Oct 29th 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

Kids up to 5th grade and their parents/guardians will be paid for by the Knights. Tickets will be available after all St. James Masses on October 15th and after morning Masses on October 22nd.  Activities will include: petting zoo, hayrack rides, pumpkin painting, and trails to walk. Hot dogs and s'mores will be provided at 6pm.

~Skutt is hosting 3-on-3 boys basketball tournament for information on the tournament and to get signed up go to:


Skutt’s Chic Boutique will be held Saturday, October 21st.  The funds raised from this event help to support academics and co-curricular programs at Skutt Catholic, including activity clubs, athletics, and campus ministry. See flyer for details
