SEA Fall Boutique

Only 2 weeks left before the boutique!!!

SOAR    NEWS

 

If you need extra raffle tickets stop by the office and we will hook you up.

We are asking that each family sell two booklets. 

 

I am sure you heard if we sell 2,800 tickets

Mrs. Howard is going to kiss a goat!!! 

But did you know that if we sell 3,300 Mr. Kelly

will also be puckering up to kiss that goat!?!?

So help us to make that happen by selling those tickets.

Upcoming Dress down Day

Monday, October 31 is a dress down day for Halloween. 

 

SCHOOL NEWS

 

~Fall Fundraiser  The fall fundraiser has come to a close and your sales efforts are to be applauded. St James/Seton families sold $37,754 worth of fundraiser items with a profit of $17,489 coming back to our school.

 

We had 23 families elect to donate cash totaling $2885 at 100% profit which brings the grand total profit for this fall to $20331(only $43 in expenses).  Give yourselves a pat on the back.

Total number of items sold: 2,467.  215 students participated in the sales this fall.

 

The top two sellers were Ornella Ametitovi with 69 items and Joe Lytle with 60 items totaling $2186. Job well done!

 

Top three selling classrooms: K2($3882), 503($3169) and 101($2923).

22 students earned the dress down day/pizza luncheon by selling 30 or more items or donating at least $210. Over $510 of extra cash was earned for those students who sold 25 or more items.

 

Thank you to Mary Horrum from the 156th St. Walgreens, for donating candy and gift cards used as door prizes and the pizza lunch.

 

A huge thank you to The Cherrydale consultant, Stacia Anderson, for donating the extra cash awards for those selling 25 items or more.

~Halloween Parade Please join us for a Halloween costume parade on Monday, October 31st at 2:45 P.M. The students from grades Pre-K through Third Grade will parade through the school and outside in front of the school in their costumes. If you would like to see the parade, you are welcome to line up around the circle out front. The students will parade by, and then will return to their classrooms to gather their things before the end of the day. We hope that you can join us, it is sure to be a fun time! 

 

~Home and School is selling Village Inn Pie Certificates again this year.  For $11.00 you get a Sweet Returns Card good towards the purchase of any of the following pies, Cherry, Lemon Meringue, French Silk, Strawberry Rhubarb, Coconut Crème, Lemon Supreme, Country Apple, Triple Berry, Pecan (seasonal) and Pumpkin (seasonal).  Order deadline is 11/11 and you will receive your pies the week of 11/14….just in time for the holidays!!!  See flyer http://www.sjsomaha.org/media/files/2016_11_11_SJS_Village_Inn_Pie.pdf

Lunch for our SJS staff and support staff.

Easy way to volunteer – if you have a student in 6th grade go to iVolunteer and see what they may need for the lunch they are providing.

~ HyVee Cash for Students We already have collected $23,642.88 in HyVee receipts.  Keep sending in your receipts dated 9/1/16-12/31/16.  Don’t forget to tell your friends and family to collect too.

~Picture Retake will be Tuesday, November 15th.  Students getting picture retaken must return original picture package by Monday, November 14th.  If this is student’s first time getting picture taken they can pick up a picture form in the office no later than Monday, November 14th.  This will be a dress up day for all students getting picture taken/retaken.

 

~SJS Volunteer There are new opportunities to volunteer being added to iVolunteer weekly.  Check out all the areas that you can use your talents to help SJS @ http://stjamesseton.ivolunteer.com/#1.  It is thanks to our volunteers that our school runs so smoothly.

~Unwanted Mugs???  Do you have coffee cups hanging around that you want to get rid of? Well Sienna Francis house is in need of them.  You can drop off your unwanted coffee mugs to your classroom teacher.  Our staff serves once a month and would love to deliver them for you.  We would like them before Nov. 9th if possible.

~SAVE THE DATE for our next SJS Crafting day sponsored by home and school!!!  Whatever craft you have, come and join us Saturday, February 11 from 9am to 10pm at the SEA parish center.  Or there are half day options to accommodate your busy schedule.  You get your own 6’ round table, lunch and/or dinner, snacks and prizes throughout the day.  Even if you have to leave for a while for another commitment, your things will be safe at your table while you’re gone.  Registration forms are available here http://www.sjsomaha.org/media/files/2017_2_11_Crafting_Day.pdf, or email Jen at jeremyjenlist@cox.net for more information or a registration form.  Registrations received by January 18 get $5 off!!
