Counselor's Corner

Parenting today looks very different than when I was growing up.  I grew up in a small town where my parents owned the only restaurant.  My siblings and I worked on local farms, in the café and were constantly outside taking care of animals (including a pet cougar!).  We got “parenting” from our neighbors, coaches, clergy and really any adult in our lives.  Let’s face it – parenting has become a lot harder in the last 10-15 years.  This article identifies some key aspects of our culture and gives some good tips to decrease mental health issues in children.

The SEA Fall Boutique will be here before you know it!  Plan to come on Saturday, November 3 between 9am-3pm to shop our vendor booths, stay for lunch at our concession stand, and grab a sweet treat from our bake sale!  See the attached flyer for all the details.  And if you can print it out and hang it up at your work or a business, please do to help us advertise!!  The more shoppers we have, the more it helps the school!!

Also, if you have a home or business in a popular and visible location where you could put up a yard sign to advertise, please email us at and we will get a sign to you.  Thanks for your help!!

Did you know that you can TAGG more than just restaurants and retail?

TAGG has businesses in over 50 categories, including almost everything you need for your home!
So next time you're looking for a home-related service, look no further than TAGG. These amazing businesses will generously donate to our school with donations as large as $500!

Don't forget to send an email to the parent participation link when you have completed your parent hours for the year.
