St. James/Seton School Welcomes New Faculty and Staff

09-05-2013

Lunch Program Update

St. James/Seton School’s 2015 8th Grade class has set an all-time record for high school scholarships.  In January, the Catholic High Schools host an Entrance Exam for admissions and placement purposes.  St. James/Seton School had seventy one of its seventy seven students (92% of the class) take this test, which was given at various Metro Catholic High Schools.  Of these seventy one students, thirty three of them (46% of the testers and 43% of the class) will receive scholarships to attend Metro Catholic High Schools next year.  Some scholarships are even for the full four years of high school.  This is a record number for St. James/Seton School.

The sheer number of students receiving scholarships is not the only record St. James/Seton School’s Class of 2015 has set this year.  These thirty three students will receive over $100,250 in scholarships over a four year period while in attendance at the Metro Catholic High Schools.  These numbers bear witness to St. James/Seton School’s 50th Anniversary phrase: “Celebrating 50 Years of Quality, Faith-Based Education”.  It is a testament to the quality of teachers, students, and parents as well as parishioners who create the St. James/Seton Community.  The numbers highlight the excellence being pursued at St. James/Seton School.

TJ Orr, Dean of Students and Admissions from Roncalli Catholic, said this about the students from St. James/Seton: "Roncalli Catholic High School is very pleased with the quality of students that are coming from St. James/Seton School. They come well prepared with a good foundation to take their education to the next level. St. James faculty and staff should be very proud of the exemplary students that leave their building. "

Molly Woodman, Recruitment Director for Marian High School and an SJS Alumni states: “The students who come to Marian from St. James/Seton are always well prepared.  They excel academically and are ready to get involved in extracurricular activities from day one.  We consider ourselves blessed when young women from St. James/Seton choose to continue their Catholic education with us.”

Polly Snodgrass-Evans, parent of an 8th Grader at SJS says: “I want to thank my son’s many teachers over the years, from Kindergarten to 8th Grade.  They have all helped him succeed to the point he is at right now, in his faith and academically.  SJS is a school and an environment that I feel has been the best for our son.  I would highly recommend it to any parent questioning whether a Catholic education is right for their child, and if so, where would be the best place to send him or her.”

If you would like more information, including how to enroll your student, please contact Ms. Paulette Theisen at St. James/Seton School.
